The noble seat of learning DPS YNR since its inception has been striving to attain peaks of excellence under the guidance and protective support of DPS society New Delhi. Though the school is just four years old, it has come to be regarded as one of the best among the institutions of the region, having set new and impeccable standards both in the field of academic and co-curricular activities.
The school which opened with primary section took a step ahead on the leader of success in 2007 and was upgraded to middle level. Good results shown in both formative and informative field of education encouraged the authorities to still upgrade the school. So, the senior classes (IX-X) were introduced in 2008 hard work coupled with sincerity proved its worth again and excellent results shown in first matriculations exam (2009-10) helped the school get affiliation from CBSE for the up gradation till 10+2. DPS YNR, which had been a little fledging a few years ago, has grown substantially spreading its wings and scaling.
Curriculum: The thrust of DPS YNR is on natural blossoming of each child into a self reliant and confident individual rather than on the mind crippling, heavy load of books and homework. So the school provides its students with a stimulating and enjoyable curriculum which is relevant to individual needs and which enables them to make the most of their abilities. An electric mix of sports, music, dramatics, dance, computers with academics typify a normal day at DPS YNR.
The students are encouraged to explore through projects, practicals, activities, seminars, workshops – infact school follows a comprehensive inquiry based, intellectuality motivating “Do and learn” approach.
Infrastructure: DPS YNR is a proved provider of infrastructure and facilities at par with the needs and requirements of a student of 21 century. In addition to the most salubrious and prime location, the school stands for the most conducive and enriching environment. The campus of the school is deftly devised keeping in mind all big and small demands of the children and threads of modern education.
Apart from highly spacious well stocked library well planned laboratories flushed with equipments to cater to physical, chemical, biological aspects of science; a very high tech computer lab; spacious dining hall; been air conditioned classrooms; language lab; the class rooms have also been converted into SMART CLASS ROOMS which are connected with “Knowledge Centre” that supplies different modules required for different classes to facilitate the students to listen and watch the concepts related to all subjects on screens. In addition to this the school’s main block comprises of a skating rink, a basketball court, a huge cricket court and a table tennis court which works in collaboration with Mahesh Bhupati Tennis Academy. An elaborate A.C transportation system and periodical medical checkups in school’s own clinic are also in place.
Activities: In DPS YNR every educational plan is thought of and carried out with a vision to bring all round development of the personality of a child because we know that the school of today is no longer confined to classroom instructions but many of the most important lessons are those, which students learn as part of team games, competitions and collaborative work. To pave the way to such non-cognitive learning, a variety of competitions and cultural events are organized in the school by dividing them into different Inter class / house competitions such as debates, poetry, recitation which enrich the educational and social development of the students.
Morning assemblies are also conducted in school which serve as a forum for the students to address a large audience and express themselves. Every student is encouraged to participate indiscriminately with the intention of nurturing and developing inner talents.
